CLINDAPIS® (Antimicrobial)

FORMULA

Each mL contains:
Clindamycin hydrochloride equivalent to 25 mg
Clindamycin Vehicle cbp 1 mL

INDICATION

Antibacterial indicated in dogs and cats for the treatment of infections caused by Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria sensitive to the action of clindamycin, in pyodermas, infected wounds, abscesses, infections in the oral cavity and osteomyelitis.
Dogs and cats:
In infected wounds, abscesses caused by Staphylococcus aureus and pyoderma caused by Staphylococcus pseudointermedius. Clindamycin is active against species of anaerobic organisms including: Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Actinomyces, Nocardia, and Mycoplasma. The spectrum against anaerobic bacteria includes: Bacteroides fragilis, Fusobacterium spp., and Clostridium perfringens.

DOSE

Dogs: Average dose: 5.5 mg/kg every 12 hours or 11 mg/kg every 24 hours.
Continue 48 hours after the disappearance of clinical signs.
Tablets; (1 tablet to treat dogs between 13 – 27 kg.)
Solution; (From 0.22 to 0.44 mL per kg).
Osteomyelitis: 11 mg clindamycin/kg every 12 hours for four weeks.
Neosporosis: 11 mg/kg every 12 hours for a period
of four weeks. Preferably do not extend the treatment for more than 30 days, continuously.
For staph pyoderma: 11 mg/kg every 24 hours for 7 to 28 days.
Tablets; (1 tablet to treat dogs of 13 kg.)
Solution; (0.22 mL per kg). For infected wounds, abscesses and dental infections administer: 5.5-33 mg/kg every 12 hours, for 7 to 28 days. Tablets; (1 tablet to treat dogs between 4.5 – 27 kg.)
Solution; (From 0.22 to 1.3 mL per kg).
Cats: Average dose: 5.5 mg/kg every 12 hours or 11 mg/kg every 24
hours.
Continue 48 hours after the disappearance of clinical signs.
Solution; (From 0.22 to 0.44 mL per kg).
Toxoplasmosis: 10-20 mg/kg every 12 hours, for 2 weeks. Solution; (0.4 to 0.8 mL per kg).
Infected wounds, abscesses and dental infections: 11-33 mg/kg every 24 hours, for a maximum of 14 days.
Solution; (From 0.44 to 1.3 mL per kg).
In acute infections, if no response to therapy is observed within three or four days, treatment should be discontinued in both species.
The dose can be increased up to 30 mg/kg per day at the discretion of the Veterinarian and according to the condition treated
