PISACAINA® 2% WITH EPINEPHRINE VET is a local and regional anesthetic for use in minor surgeries on domestic and zoo animals.
The addition of epinephrine to the formulation, which has vasoconstrictor effect (local hemostatic), assists in this function.
Local anesthesia: Subcutaneous 0.5-2 mL at each infiltration site.
Regional anesthesia (perineural): 3 to 5 mL on the nerve bundle.
Bovines, equines, dogs and cats: 5 to 10 mL for nerve branch blocks (the dose depends on the animal's size and the injection skill to locate the branches to be blocked).
a) 10 to 20 mL for surface analgesia (SC).
b) 5 to 10 mL for branch blocks (the dose depends on the dog's size and the injection skill to locate the nerve branches to be blocked).
Note: anesthesia with epinephrine should not be applied epidurally or subdurally, as it produces ischemia of the CNS that will cause serious injuries. Nor in the circulation of the fingers as it can cause necrosis.
