Treatment of bacterial infections in cattle and pigs caused by microorganisms susceptible to the action of penicillins
Bacterial pneumonia: “Shipping fever complex” (Streptococcus spp., Corynebacterium pyogenes and Staphylococcus aureus) Upper respiratory tract infections such as rhinitis or pharyngitis (Corynebacterium pyogenes) Carbuncular fever (Clostridium Chauvoei)
10,000 to 20,000 IU per kg of weight in cattle and pigs.
Therefore, 1 mL of PENBALEX® LA provides 10,000 IU of benzathine penicillin G and 10,000 IU of procaine penicillin for every 15 to 30 kg of weight, and the treatment should be repeated after 48 hours.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Motherhood:
Piglets with Omphalophlevitis apply intramuscularly (IM) in the leg at a dose of 10,000 to 20,000 IU every 48 hours.
Weaning:
In case of Exudative Epidermitis apply IM at a rate of 10,000 to 20,000 IU in the leg, in addition to applying a bath with Vetadine every third day.
In cases of bacterial meningitis apply 20,000 IU IM for a period of 5 applications
