Each mL contains:
Sodium hyaluronate 10 mg
Vehicle q.s. 1 mL
It is used as a joint chondroprotector, for the treatment of osteoarticular, cartilaginous and synovial capsule diseases in horses and
dogs, synovitis in patients with excessive physical activity, acute synovitis in equines, arthritic and rheumatic diseases; it is also indicated as complementary treatment of degenerative joint disease in senile dogs and horses, especially in joints that are easily accessible for intra-articular applications.
Dogs:
As an adjunctive therapy for the prevention of osteoarthritis (OA) following surgical interventions in patellar luxation: Intra-articular (IA) application of 5 to 10 mg of sodium hyaluronate (equivalent to 0.5 to 1 mL of HIALUVISC® EQ total per animal), as a single injection at the end of surgery or with a repetition at the same concentration, one week after the surgical intervention.
Acute and chronic arthritis: In intra-articular (IA) applications for large breeds 10 mg of sodium hyaluronate (equivalent to 1 mL of HIALUVISC® EQ total per animal) can be repeated 1 or 2 times as necessary, at
weekly intervals (very severe chronic cases, continuous treatment is recommended applying a dose every 4 weeks).
IA administration requires strict antisepsis of the puncture area to avoid
introducing germs into the synovial capsule.
Horses:
For Osteoarthritis (OA) and EAD: in IA application 20 mg of sodium hyaluronate (equivalent to 2 mL of HIALUVISC® EQ total per animal), with an interval of 5 to 7 days to complete 3 applications.
Acute arthritis: in IA application 40 mg of sodium hyaluronate (equivalent to 4 mL of HIALUVISC® EQ total per animal), can be repeated 1 or 2 times as necessary, at weekly intervals. In IA application 20 mg of sodium hyaluronate (equivalent to 2 mL of HIALUVISC® EQ total per animal), can be repeated 1 o 2 times as necessary, at weekly intervals.
Chronic arthritis: Only IA injection is recommended, 20 mg of sodium hyaluronate (equivalent to 2 mL of HIALUVISC® EQ total per animal) and can be repeated 1 or 2 times as necessary, at weekly intervals.
Intra-articular (IA) administration requires strict antisepsis of the puncture area, to avoid introducing germs into the synovial capsule.
Exclusively intra-articular.
